Civilizations rise and fall
Past, present, and future.
But the rush of Life
Fades now.
Past it was a river
Wider than a lake.
Present is a stream
But too wide to cross.
What of our future?
A trickle, a ditch.
Step across.
It's just a slight jump.
The Truth has slipped
Through our fingers,
And those who believe
Are few.
Will we reclaim?
Will we see?
It is lost in the flow
Of our mysterious future.
