The Great Awakening began in the 1730's. Three of the men that began it were Jonathan Edwards, George Whitefield, and Gilbert Tennent. They were all preachers, just like Daddy! They wanted people to have true relationships with the Lord, just like the Christians of today. These men and others like them preached special services outdoors or in tents.
