Animal Whimsies

I love you
I hate you
I am a queen.
Adore me, please?
I reign over all
My glory unmatched.
You will bow
To my every command.
If you do not,
I will kill
With my brain.
I am too lazy
To do otherwise.
My whims require
Your instant
Immediate
Attention.
I hate you
I love you.
I am a cat.

Love and Stress

Can you feel your heartbeat
Beating ever faster?
Your hands shaking
Your fingers trembling.
Do I describe love or fear?
But they are not the same
Despite these limited descriptions.
For this is the reaction
To compassion in love.
And the reaction to this
Is gentle.
But in fear
It seems that no one sees
There is no smile
To comfort you.

Wedding

Bells are ringing
Children singing,
It's a joyous celebration.
Laughter, dancing
Eating cake and icing.
Boy and girl
Become man and woman
With joy and sadness.
White and gold
Beauty and grace.
All parts of this
Glorious day.

The Tale of Albadon

There was a king of Albadon
Who was so strong and fierce.
He ruled over his people
With a strong and mighty hand.
His realm was feared across the land
For all its power, might!
But the last king of Albadon
Fell to the sword.

But Albadon still was a land
Of power, glory, might.
And now there rose a queene
Who was so fair and proud.
Her beauty was acclaimed
Across the worlds and lands!
But the last queene of Albadon
Fell to her pride.

So Albadon had fallen
There was no ruler there.
There came a time in which
Chaos ruled the land,
It seemed that all was lost.
Albadon would die.
Order was brought at last
But it was false and feared.

Finally there rose a child
Who was acclaimed as Queene.
But she feared for her life so long
For she was little loved.
So when her lover died
The child ran away.
And Albadon at last
Faded into mist.

Times and times passed
And Albadon grew tired.
But suddenly a warrior
Stood forth from the rest.
She led her people into war
To save them from the mist.
And no blood of Albadon
Was shed that day but hers.

There was a Queene of Albadon
Who was fair and strong.
She ruled o’er her people
With a loving hand of power.

And so the tale of Albadon
Is closed like this:
Be like the warrior,
Not the Queen,
The king ,
Or the child.

The Sea

Can you hear the sea?
Wooshing swirling
Swooshing.
Can you feeling it swirling
Around your ankles?
Do you see the vastness
The immeasurable vastness?
What is this glory?
It is beauty
And power
And strength.

Almighty

We sing
We dance
We play.
Or do we?
Do we just
Vocalize our notes
Sway to the music,
Please a little kid?
And we wonder
Why we find no joy.
Why there is
No wonder in song
No wildness in dance
No laughter in play.
We have forgotten these things.

But if there is laughter
Where can we hear it?
If there is wonder
Where can we see it?
If there is wildness
Where can we feel it?

We find it in One.
One Word
One Hope
One Almighty
One Creator
One Savior
One God
One Song.
Almighty.

Darkness

The pain of a loss empties us
It surrounds our hearts
Like a film.
It crushes our minds
Until we wish we could not feel.
But if we do not feel
How do we laugh?
If we do not feel
How do we rejoice?
If we do not feel
We do not ache,
And we become heartless,
Slaves of an unsaleable darkness
By all but the light we have scorned.
For our hearts are light,
When we lean on the Light,
But they are heavy,
When we scorn all feeling.
If we do feel,
How alive are we?
